The Episode on the Emaciation Caused by Hope
पितामहाशा महती ममासीद्धि सुयोधने । प्राप्ते युद्धे तु तद् युक्त तत् कर्तायमिति प्रभो
Pitāmahāśā mahatī mamāsīd dhi Suyodhane | prāpte yuddhe tu tad yuktaṃ tat kartāyam iti prabho, Pitāmaha!
Yudhiṣṭhira nói: “Ôi Pitāmaha (Đại Phụ), ta đã đặt nơi Suyodhana (Duryodhana) một niềm hy vọng lớn lao. Ta tưởng rằng khi thời khắc chiến tranh đến, hắn sẽ chọn điều phải—sẽ làm điều đúng đắn. Ôi bậc Pitāmaha đáng tôn kính, ta đã tin rằng hắn sẽ hoàn lại cho ta một nửa vương quốc mà không ép phải giao chiến.”
