The Episode on the Emaciation Caused by Hope
सर्वस्याशा सुमहती पुरुषस्योपजायते । तस्यां विहन्यमानायां दु:खो मृत्युर्न संशय:
sarvasyāśā sumahatī puruṣasyopajāyate | tasyāṁ vihanyamānāyāṁ duḥkho mṛtyur na saṁśayaḥ ||
Yudhiṣṭhira nói: “Trong mỗi con người, ắt hẳn nảy sinh một niềm hy vọng rất lớn. Khi niềm hy vọng ấy bị đập vỡ, nỗi sầu khổ sâu nặng liền theo sau; và với một số người, nó còn dẫn đến cái chết—điều ấy không thể nghi ngờ.”
