त्रिवर्गमूलनिश्चयः — Determining the Roots of Dharma, Artha, and Kāma
Mahābhārata, Śānti-parva 123
वेदा: प्रतिष्ठा ज्योतिर्भ्यस्ततो हयशिरा: प्रभु: । ब्रह्मा पितामहस्तस्माज्जागर्ति प्रभुरव्यय:
vedāḥ pratiṣṭhā jyotirbhyaḥ tato hayaśirāḥ prabhuḥ | brahmā pitāmahastasmāj jāgarti prabhuravyayaḥ ||
Vasuharomā nói: “Từ các quang minh thiêng liêng phát sinh cây trượng quyền uy, nhờ đó các Veda được an lập vững bền. Từ Veda xuất hiện Thượng chủ Hayagrīva; và từ Hayagrīva xuất hiện Brahmā—Đấng bất hoại, vị Tổ phụ của muôn loài. Khi đã thọ nhận cây trượng của kỷ cương và trị đạo ấy, Ngài luôn tỉnh thức để hộ trì và sắp đặt các thế giới.”
