ततो दृष्ट्वा प्ररुरुदु: को5स्मान्‌ संविभजिष्यति । उनका संन्यास लेनेका विचार जानकर पितरोंसहित समस्त प्राणी यह कहते हुए रोने लगे “कि अब हमें कौन विभागपूर्वक अन्नदान करेगा”

tato dṛṣṭvā praruruduḥ ko ’smān saṁvibhajiṣyati |

Bấy giờ, thấy vậy, họ òa lên than khóc: “Giờ đây ai sẽ phân chia cho chúng ta phần đáng được nhận?” Biết rằng ông đang nghĩ đến việc xuất gia—con đường ly bỏ—muôn loài, cùng với các Pitṛ (tổ linh), đều kêu khóc trong sầu thảm, lo sợ sự phân phối có trật tự và sự bố thí lương thực nuôi sống sẽ không còn nữa.
