Balarāma’s Pilgrimage Context
एतदिच्छाम्यहं श्रोतुं परं कौतूहलं हि मे । इसके बाद धैर्यवान् असितने उन लोकोंमें रहनेवाले ब्रह्मययाजी सिद्धों और साधु पुरुषोंसे हाथ जोड़कर विनीतभावसे पूछा--“महात्माओ! मैं महातेजस्वी जैगीषव्यको अब देख नहीं रहा हूँ। आप उनका पता बतावें। मैं उनके विषयमें सुनना चाहता हूँ। इसके लिये मेरे मनमें बड़ी उत्कण्ठा है”

Vaiśampāyana nói: “Ta muốn được nghe điều ấy, vì lòng hiếu kỳ của ta thật sâu.” Rồi Asita, người kiên định, chắp tay cung kính hỏi các bậc Siddha tế lễ Brahman và những bậc thánh nhân cư ngụ trong các cõi ấy: “Các bậc đại hồn! Nay ta không còn thấy Jaigīṣavya, bậc rực rỡ uy quang. Xin chỉ cho ta nơi ngài ở. Ta khát khao được nghe về ngài; lòng ta tràn đầy mong mỏi.”
