तपसा लकभ्यते सर्व यथाभूतं भविष्यति

Transliteration

tapasā labhyate sarvaṃ yathābhūtaṃ bhaviṣyati | śubhānane! tapasyā sarvaṃ prāpyate; tava manoratho 'pi yathāvat siddhaḥ bhaviṣyati | devatānāṃ ye divyāḥ sthānāḥ, te tapasyā prāpyante | mahatsukhasya mūla-kāraṇaṃ tapa eva ||

Translation

Vaiśampāyana nói: “Nhờ khổ hạnh mà mọi điều đều đạt được; điều sẽ xảy đến sẽ thành tựu đúng theo chân tướng của nó. Hỡi người mặt đẹp, bằng sự tu khổ hạnh có kỷ luật, tất thảy đều có thể giành được, và điều nàng ấp ủ cũng sẽ viên thành đúng như ý nguyện. Ngay cả những cõi sáng rực của chư thiên cũng được đến nhờ khổ hạnh. Quả thật, khổ hạnh chính là cội rễ của hạnh phúc tối thượng.”
