Educational Q&A

In war narratives, the text highlights how outward appearance, language, and coordinated group presence can shape morale and fear. It implicitly points to the ethical weight of psychological intimidation as a real force on the battlefield, alongside physical strength.

Vaiśampāyana describes various bands or troops characterized by unusual attire/disguises and many languages. Their diversity and intimidating presentation are emphasized as making them frightening to opposing forces.
