Saptasārasvata-tīrtha-prasaṅgaḥ | The Saptasārasvata Pilgrimage Account and the Maṅkaṇaka Narrative

अभिगच्छन्ति तत्‌ तीर्थ पुण्यं ब्राह्मणसेवितम्‌ । जनेश्वर! वहाँ उस ब्राह्मणसेवित पुण्यतीर्थमें गन्धरवॉसहित देवता भी प्रतिमास आया करते हैं,पुरुषसिंह! तीर्थसेवनके लोभसे वे ब्रह्मर्षिणण समन्तपंचक तीर्थतक सरस्वती नदीके तटपर ठहर गये ।।

vaiśampāyana uvāca |

abhigacchanti tat tīrthaṁ puṇyaṁ brāhmaṇasevitam |

janeśvara! tatra brāhmaṇasevite puṇyatīrthe gandharvaiḥ sahitā devatā api pratimāsaṁ āyānti, puruṣasiṁha! |

tīrthasevanalobhena te brahmarṣayaḥ samantapañcake tīrthe sarasvatīnadītīre nyavasan ||

yajvatāṁ tatra teṣāṁ tu munīnāṁ bhāvitātmanām |

svādhyāyenātimahatā babhūvuḥ pūritā diśaḥ ||

Vaiśampāyana nói: “Hỡi chúa tể nhân gian, họ tìm đến bến thiêng ấy—một tīrtha thanh tịnh, được các Bà-la-môn phụng sự và làm cho thêm linh thánh. Tại nơi thánh địa được tôn kính bởi Bà-la-môn ấy, hỡi sư tử giữa loài người, ngay cả chư thiên—cùng các Gandharva—cũng tháng tháng đều đến. Vì ham cầu công đức của việc hành hương tīrtha, các bậc brahmarṣi ấy đã dừng chân trên bờ sông Sarasvatī, tại tīrtha mang tên Samantapañcaka. Và khi những hiền triết tâm đã được luyện tịnh ấy cử hành nghi lễ, tiếng tụng đọc Veda (svādhyāya) hùng tráng, thâm trầm của họ làm vang dội khắp mười phương.”
