Brahmaśirastra-pratisaṃhāra — Retraction and redirection of the supreme weapon
Sauptika Parva, Adhyāya 15
ब्रह्मचारी व्रती चापि दुरवापमवाप्य तत् । परमव्यसनार्तोडपि नार्जुनो<स्त्रं व्यमुजचत
brahmacārī vratī cāpi duravāpam avāpya tat | paramavyasanārto 'pi nārjuno 'straṃ vyamuñcat ||
Vaiśampāyana nói: Chỉ nhờ sống như một brahmacārin và giữ giới nguyện nghiêm cẩn, Arjuna mới đạt được vũ khí khó cầu ấy. Vì thế, dẫu lâm vào tai ương lớn nhất, chàng cũng không phóng nó. Câu kệ nêu rõ: sức mạnh chân chính, có được nhờ kỷ luật, phải được điều khiển bằng sự tự chế và phán đoán theo đạo lý, chứ không bởi tuyệt vọng.
