वैशम्पायन उवाच
In extreme adversity, righteous leadership and timely counsel become a ‘lamp’—a moral and practical guide that preserves life and dharma; such protective action earns enduring renown.
Vaiśampāyana recalls a well-known earlier crisis at Vāraṇāvata, praising the addressed person as the one who guided and safeguarded the Pāṇḍavas when they faced a grave danger there.
