शकुनि बोला--राजन्! धनके लोभसे अधर्म करनेवाला मतवाला मनुष्य नरककुण्डमें सरिता है। अधिक उन्मत्त हुआ ढूँठा काठ हो जाता है। आप तो आयुमें बड़े और गुणोंमें श्रेष्ठ हैं। भरतवंशविभूषण! आपको नमस्कार है ।।
svapne tāni na dṛśyante jāgrato vā yudhiṣṭhira | kitavā yāni dīvyantaḥ pralapanty utkaṭā iva ||
Śakuni nói: “Hỡi Yudhiṣṭhira, những lời lẽ cuồng dại và liều lĩnh mà kẻ cờ bạc buột miệng khi say men cuộc chơi không nên xem là thật hay ràng buộc: chúng chẳng hiện ra như chân lý, dù trong mộng hay lúc tỉnh.”
युधिछिर उवाच
Speech uttered under the intoxication of gambling is portrayed as delusive and unreliable; dharmic judgment should not be guided by reckless talk born of addiction and excitement.
