मौसलोत्पत्तिः — The Birth of the Musala and the Sages’ Pronouncement
उसे देखनेपर बड़े-बड़े धनुर्धर वीर उसके ऊपर लाखों बाणोंका प्रहार करते थे; परंतु सम्पूर्ण भूतोंका विनाश करनेवाले उस कालको वे वेध नहीं पाते थे ।। उत्पेदिरे महावाता दारुणाश्ष् दिने दिने | वृष्ण्यन्धकविनाशाय बहवो लोमहर्षणा:,अब प्रतिदिन अनेक बार भयंकर आँधी उठने लगी, जो रोंगटे खड़े कर देनेवाली थी। उससे वृष्णियों और अन्धकोंके विनाशकी सूचना मिल रही थी
utpedire mahāvātā dāruṇāś ca dine dine | vṛṣṇyandhakavināśāya bahavo lomaharṣaṇāḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana nói: Ngày qua ngày, những cơn gió dữ, rợn người, nổi lên nhiều lần—điềm báo trước sự diệt vong của dòng Vṛṣṇi và Andhaka. Dẫu các cung thủ hùng mạnh có trút xuống vô số mũi tên vào điều họ trông thấy, họ vẫn không thể đâm thủng hay ngăn cản Thời Gian (Kāla), kẻ hủy diệt mọi loài; vì thế, câu chuyện nhấn mạnh tính tất yếu đạo lý của số mệnh chín muồi từ những nhân duyên đã gieo.
