व्यड्राड्रावयवाः पेतुः क्षितौ क्षीणा: क्षितीश्वरा: । कितने ही घायल नरेश पताका, ध्वज, छत्र, अश्व, सारथि, आयुध, शरीर तथा उसके अवयवोंसे रहित हो रणभूमिमें गिर पड़े
vyaḍrāḍrāvayavāḥ petuḥ kṣitau kṣīṇāḥ kṣitīśvarāḥ |
Sañjaya nói: Kiệt sức và trọng thương, nhiều bậc quân vương ngã gục xuống đất; thân thể và tay chân bị xé nát, bị tước khỏi cả cờ, phướn, lọng, ngựa, xa phu, binh khí—những dấu hiệu của vương quyền và che chở. Bởi vậy, chiến địa phơi bày cái giá đạo lý khắc nghiệt của chiến tranh: quyền lực và phù hiệu hoàng gia mong manh trước hậu quả của bạo lực và số mệnh.
