ज्यातलनत्रेषुशब्दांश्न शृणु कर्ण महात्मनाम् | “कर्ण! बाणोंके भाँति-भाँतिके शब्द, मनुष्यों, घोड़ों और रथोंके कोलाहल तथा महामनस्वी वीरोंकी प्रत्यंचा और दस्तानोंके शब्द सुनो
Sañjaya uvāca: jyātalanatreṣuśabdāṃś ca śṛṇu karṇa mahātmanām | karṇa! bāṇānāṃ bhānti-bhāntike śabdān manuṣyāśva-ratha-kolāhalaṃ ca mahāmanasvī-vīrāṇāṃ pratyancā-dastāna-śabdāṃś ca śṛṇu ||
Sañjaya nói: “Hỡi Karṇa, hãy lắng nghe những âm thanh của các dũng sĩ đại tâm—tiếng dây cung bật căng và tiếng giáp cụ va chạm; tiếng tên rít và tiếng tên nện chạm muôn vẻ; cùng tiếng náo động của người, ngựa và chiến xa.
