उद्यन्तौ च यथा सूर्यों बालसूर्यसमप्रभौ । कर्णशल्यौ रणे दृष्टवा विद्रवन्तु महारथा:
udyantau ca yathā sūryau bālasūrya-samaprabhau | karṇa-śalyau raṇe dṛṣṭvā vidravantu mahārathāḥ ||
Sañjaya nói: “Như hai mặt trời đang mọc, rực rỡ như mặt trời ban sớm, Karṇa và Śalya—khi cùng hiện ra trên chiến địa—khiến ngay cả những đại xa chiến binh kiệt xuất nhất của quân đối phương cũng phải tan vỡ đội ngũ mà tháo chạy.”
