क्रूरां शरीरसंघट्टां सादिनक्रां दुरत्ययाम् । द्रोण: प्रावर्तयत् तत्र नदीमन्तकगामिनीम्
sañjaya uvāca |
krūrāṃ śarīrasaṃghaṭṭāṃ sādinakrāṃ duratyayām |
droṇaḥ prāvartayat tatra nadīm antakagāminīm ||
Sañjaya nói: Ở đó, Droṇa đã khiến dâng lên một “dòng sông chiến trận” tàn bạo—nghẹt đặc bởi thân xác bị nghiền nát, đầy rẫy cá sấu và thú dữ, gần như không thể vượt qua—một dòng sông cuốn con người thẳng về phía Antaka (Tử Thần). Hình ảnh ấy đặt chiến địa không phải như trò chơi anh hùng, mà như một thảm họa đạo lý: chiến tranh, một khi đã được thả ra, trở thành dòng nước lôi cả hai phe vào diệt vong, bất kể dũng khí hay ý định ban đầu.
