बभूव तत्र सैन्यानां शब्द: सुविपुलो निशि । उस रात्रिके समय दौड़ते, भागते और पुनः लौटते हुए सैनिकोंका महान् कोलाहल सुनायी पड़ता था
babhūva tatra sainyānāṃ śabdaḥ suvipulo niśi |
Sañjaya thưa: Tại nơi ấy, trong đêm tối, một tiếng ồn ào mênh mông dậy lên giữa các đạo quân—âm vang choáng ngợp của binh sĩ chạy, tháo lui rồi lại quay trở lại. Cảnh tượng ấy gợi ra sự rối loạn về đạo lý đi kèm chiến trận ban đêm: sợ hãi, hỗn mang, và sự sụp đổ của kỷ luật giữa bạo lực.
