Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how symbols and standards on a warrior’s chariot communicate identity, aspiration, and martial prestige; by likening Vṛṣasena’s chariot to Skanda’s, it frames him within an ideal of valor associated with a divine war-leader.

Sañjaya describes to the king the appearance of Vṛṣasena’s chariot on the battlefield, noting that it is adorned with a peacock emblem and comparing its splendor to the famed chariot of Skanda.
