Dhṛtarāṣṭra–Sañjaya-saṃvādaḥ; madhyāhna-saṅgrāma-pravṛttiḥ

स बभौ रथशार्दूलो ललाटे संस्थितैस्त्रिभि: । शिखरै: काञउ्चनमयैर्मेरुस्त्रिभिरिवोच्छितै:

sa babhau rathaśārdūlo lalāṭe saṃsthitais tribhiḥ | śikharaiḥ kāñcanamayair merus tribhir ivocchritaiḥ ||

Sañjaya nói: Vị “hổ tướng” trong hàng chiến xa ấy, Aśvatthāman, rực sáng với ba mũi tên cắm trên trán, tựa núi Meru đội ba đỉnh cao bằng vàng. Hình ảnh ấy cho thấy giữa sự khắc nghiệt của chiến trận, ngay cả vết thương cũng trở thành dấu ấn của dũng khí nổi bật và sức chịu đựng kiên định.
