भीष्मस्य भीमसेन-निरोधः

बल॑ तपश्न सत्यं च कर्म धर्मात्मकं तव । तेजोडग्नि: पवन: श्वास आपस्ते स्वेदसम्भवा:,तप और सत्य आपका बल है तथा धर्म और कर्म आपका स्वरूप है। अग्नि आपका तेज, वायु साँस और जल पसीना है
balaṁ tapaś ca satyaṁ ca karma dharmātmakaṁ tava | tejo 'gnir pavanaḥ śvāsa āpas te svedasambhavāḥ ||
Bhīṣma nói: “Khổ hạnh (tapas) và chân thật (satya) là sức mạnh của Ngài; dharma và hành động chính trực là bản tính của Ngài. Ánh uy của Ngài là lửa; hơi thở của Ngài là gió; và nước sinh ra từ mồ hôi của Ngài.”
