Garuḍa Array and the Ardhacandra Counter-Formation
।। स भीष्मं शरजालेन महता समवाकिरत्
sa bhīṣmaṁ śarajālena mahatā samavākirat | jighāṁsantaṁ yudhāṁ śreṣṭha tadā āsīt tumulaṁ mahat ||
Sañjaya thưa: “Tâu Đại vương, hắn trút lên Bhīṣma một tấm lưới tên dày đặc. Khi Bhīṣma—bậc nhất trong hàng chiến sĩ, đang nung nấu ý định sát phạt—bị công kích như vậy, ngay lúc ấy một trận chiến lớn lao và hỗn loạn bùng nổ. Cảnh tượng này phơi bày đạo lý khắc nghiệt của chiến địa: ngay cả bậc trưởng lão đáng tôn kính cũng phải hứng chịu sức mạnh không nương tay, khi bổn phận bảo vệ phe mình được đặt lên trên hết.”
