गौरुडव्यूह-रचना तथा अर्धचन्द्र-प्रत्यव्यूह

Garuḍa Array and the Ardhacandra Counter-Formation

भीष्मचापच्युतैर्बाणैरार्तानां युध्यतां मृथे

bhīṣma-cāpa-cyutair bāṇair ārtānāṁ yudhyatāṁ mṛdhe, jighāṁsantaṁ yudhāṁ śreṣṭha tadā sīt tumulaṁ mahat.

Sañjaya thưa: “Tâu Đại vương, khi những mũi tên phóng ra từ cung của Bhīṣma giáng xuống các chiến binh đang quần thảo trong đám hỗn chiến, khiến họ khốn đốn, thì Bhīṣma—bậc nhất trong hàng chiến sĩ—trở thành mục tiêu của những kẻ quyết giết ông. Bấy giờ, một trận chiến mênh mông và cuồng loạn bùng nổ.”
