मत्तो गज: पर्यवर्तद्धयांश्व॒ हतसादिन:
sañjaya uvāca | matto gajaḥ paryavartad dhayāṁś ca hatasādinaḥ, jighāṁsantaṁ yudhāṁ śreṣṭha tadā āsīt tumulaṁ mahat |
Sañjaya thưa: “Tâu Đại vương, giữa vòng chiến, voi điên cuồng quay cuồng; còn ngựa—nhiều con đã mất người cưỡi—chạy tán loạn trong hỗn mang. Khi các chiến sĩ ào lên với ý định hạ sát bậc dũng tướng hàng đầu, tiếng ầm vang của chiến trận bỗng dâng thành một cơn náo động mênh mông và ghê rợn.”
