Garuḍa Array and the Ardhacandra Counter-Formation
उत्थाय च प्रधावन्तो द्वन्ड्ययुद्धमवाप्रुवन् । पीडिता: पुनरन्योन्यं लुठन्तो रणमूर्थनि
sañjaya uvāca | utthāya ca pradhāvanto dvandvayuddham avāpruvan | pīḍitāḥ punar anyonyaṁ luṭhanto raṇamūrdhani jighāṁsantaṁ yudhāṁ śreṣṭhaṁ tadā āsīt tumulaṁ mahat ||
Sañjaya thưa: “Tâu Đại vương, nhiều chiến binh đứng dậy rồi lao lên, bước vào những cuộc quyết đấu tay đôi. Bị đòn của nhau đánh trúng, đau đớn, họ lăn lộn ngay nơi tuyến đầu chiến địa. Khi họ xông tới nhằm giết Bhīṣma—bậc nhất trong hàng chiến sĩ—cuộc giao tranh lúc ấy trở nên mênh mông và náo loạn.”
