Bhīmasena’s Kalinga Engagement and the Approach of Bhīṣma (भीमसेन-कालिङ्ग-संग्रामः)
प्रणेदुर्भिन्नमर्माणो निपेतुश्च गतासव: । प्राद्रवन्त दिश: केचिन्नदन्तो भैरवान् रवान्
sañjaya uvāca | praṇedur bhinnamarmāṇo nipetuś ca gatāsavaḥ | prādravanta diśaḥ kecin nadanto bhairavān ravān |
Sañjaya thưa: Có kẻ, huyệt khớp và chỗ yếu bị phá nát, rống vang rồi ngã xuống đất, tắt thở. Kẻ khác chạy tán loạn bốn phương, gầm thét những tiếng ghê rợn. Cảnh ấy cho thấy đà tàn bạo của chiến trận—khi ngay cả những chiến tượng hùng mạnh, từng là biểu tượng quyền uy vương giả và kỷ luật huấn luyện, cũng bị vũ khí quật ngã thành hoảng loạn, sụp đổ và tử vong.
