राजेन्द्र तव पुत्राणां पाण्डवानां तथैव च | दुष्प्रधृष्याणि चास्त्राणि सशस्त्रकवचानि च,राजेन्द्र! आपके पुत्रों तथा पाण्डवोंके दुर्दम्य अस्त्र-शस्त्र तथा कवच चमक उठे
sañjaya uvāca | rājendra tava putrāṇāṃ pāṇḍavānāṃ tathaiva ca | duṣpradharṣyāṇi cāstrāṇi saśastrakavacāni ca ||
Sañjaya thưa: Hỡi bậc vương trong các vương, những vũ khí đáng sợ—cùng binh khí và áo giáp—của các con ngài, và của phe Pāṇḍava cũng vậy, đều lóe sáng rực rỡ, khiến kẻ thù khó lòng chống đỡ. Cảnh ấy nhấn mạnh sự chuẩn bị võ bị ngang nhau của đôi bên, báo trước sức nặng đạo lý của một cuộc chiến nơi thân tộc đối đầu thân tộc.
