उदतिष्ठन्महाराज सर्व युक्तमशेषत: । सूर्योदये महत् सैन्यं कुरुपाण्डवसेनयो:,महाराज! सूर्योदय होते-होते कौरवों और पाण्डवोंकी वह सारी विशाल सेना सम्पूर्ण रूपसे युद्धके लिये तैयार हो उठी
udatiṣṭhan mahārāja sarva-yuktam aśeṣataḥ | sūryodaye mahat sainyaṃ kuru-pāṇḍava-senayoḥ ||
Sañjaya thưa: Tâu Đại vương, lúc mặt trời vừa mọc, đại quân của cả Kurus và Pāṇḍavas đều đứng dậy, bày trận đầy đủ—mọi đơn vị đều sẵn sàng trọn vẹn cho chiến cuộc. Khởi đầu của ngày vì thế trở thành hiệu lệnh của sự chuẩn bị nghiêm chỉnh, khi chiến tranh được khởi động bằng tổ chức chặt chẽ và quyết tâm tuyệt đối.
