ततः प्रकाशे सैन्यानि समदृश्यन्त भारत । त्वदीयानां परेषां च शस्त्रवन्ति महान्ति च,भारत! तब सूर्योदयके प्रकाशमें आपकी और शत्रुओंकी सारी सेनाएँ शब्त्रोंसे सुसज्जित तथा अत्यन्त विशाल दिखायी देने लगीं
tataḥ prakāśe sainyāni samadṛśyanta bhārata | tvadīyānāṁ pareṣāṁ ca śastravanti mahānti ca ||
Sañjaya thưa: Rồi khi ánh ngày lan tỏa, các đạo quân hiện ra rõ rệt—cả quân của ngài lẫn quân địch, hỡi Bhārata—mênh mông bát ngát và tua tủa binh khí. Cảnh ấy báo hiệu cuộc chiến đang đến gần một cách không thể quay lui, nơi lựa chọn và trách nhiệm của con người sẽ bị thử thách dưới ánh sáng của cuộc đối đầu công khai.
