गजानां बूंहतां चैव योधानां चापि गर्जताम् । क्ष्वेलितास्फोटितोकत्क्रुष्टैस्तुमुलं सर्वती5भवत्
sañjaya uvāca |
gajānāṁ bṛṁhatāṁ caiva yodhānāṁ cāpi garjatām |
kṣvelitāsphoṭitotkruṣṭais tumulaṁ sarvatobhavat bharatanandana ||
Sañjaya thưa: Hỡi niềm vui của dòng Bharata! Từ tiếng voi rống, tiếng chiến sĩ gầm vang—cùng tiếng ngựa hí, tiếng vỗ tay, tiếng đập ngực và những tiếng hô chiến trận dậy trời—một cơn ầm vang hỗn độn nổi lên, lan tràn khắp mọi phương. Cảnh ấy báo hiệu sức nặng đạo lý của cuộc xung đột sắp tới: sự bùng phát bên ngoài của kiêu khí võ công và cơn cuồng nhiệt tập thể, ngay trước khi dharma bị thử thách trên chiến địa.
