भीष्मो व: समरे सर्वान् पालयिष्यति धर्मवित् | ते भयं सुमहत् त्यक्त्वा पाण्डवान् प्रति युध्यत
bhīṣmo vaḥ samare sarvān pālayiṣyati dharmavit | te bhayaṃ sumahat tyaktvā pāṇḍavān prati yudhyata |
Sañjaya thưa: “Bhīṣma, bậc thông tỏ dharma, sẽ che chở cho tất cả các ngươi trong chiến trận. Vậy hãy gạt bỏ nỗi sợ lớn mà giao chiến với các Pāṇḍava.” Câu ấy đặt lòng can đảm như một bổn phận dựa trên niềm tin vào vị hộ pháp chính trực, thúc quân Kaurava hành động không hoảng loạn và giữ trọn nghĩa vụ võ sĩ theo phe mình đã chọn.
