सा च सर्वनरेन्द्राणां चन्द्रार्कसदृशी प्रभा । वीराज़दकिरीटेषु निष्प्रभा समपद्यत,समस्त राजाओंकी चन्द्रमा और सूर्यके समान प्रकाशित होनेवाली प्रभा वीरोंके अंगद और किरीटोंके सामने अत्यन्त फीकी पड़ गयी
sā ca sarva-narendrāṇāṃ candrārka-sadṛśī prabhā | vīrājad-akirīṭeṣu niṣprabhā samapadyata ||
Sañjaya nói: Hào quang của các bậc quân vương—rực như trăng và mặt trời—trước những vòng giáp tay (aṅgada) và mũ miện của các anh hùng, bỗng hóa mờ nhạt như thể mất đi ánh sáng. Cảnh ấy cho thấy trong chiến tranh, vinh hoa thế tục bị đem cân đo trước võ lực và những dấu hiệu hữu hình của lòng dũng cảm.
