Daśame’hani Bhīṣma-yuddham — Śikhaṇḍī-rakṣaṇa, Arjuna-prabhāva, Duryodhana-āśraya-vākyam

परिवत्रू रणे यत्ता भीमसेनं समन्ततः । गदा हाथमें लिये हुए भीमसेनको देखकर उन गजारोही सैनिकोंने उन्हें यत्नपूर्वक चारों ओरसे घेर लिया

sañjaya uvāca | parivatrū raṇe yattā bhīmasenaṃ samantataḥ | gadāṃ hastam ānīya bhīmasenaṃ vilokya te gajārohī yodhās taṃ yatnapūrvakaṃ caturdiśaṃ paryavārayanta |

Sanjaya nói: Giữa trận tiền, các chiến binh cưỡi voi, thấy Bhimasena tay cầm chùy, liền gắng sức vây bọc chàng từ mọi phía. Cảnh ấy phơi bày luật lệ khắc nghiệt của chiến tranh: khi một dũng tướng đáng sợ xuất hiện, nhiều người hợp lực để kìm hãm sức mạnh của chàng, biến lòng can đảm thành phép thử của sức bền giữa vòng vây.
