Subhadrā’s Petition to Kṛṣṇa for the Revival of Parīkṣit (अभिमन्युज-प्राणरक्षा-प्रार्थना)
एवमुकक्त्वा तु वाष्णेयं पृथा पृुथुललोचना । उच्छित्य बाहू दु:खार्ता ताश्चान्या: प्रापतन् भुवि
evaṁ uktvā tu vārṣṇeyaṁ pṛthā pṛthulalocanā | ucchitya bāhū duḥkhārtā tāś cānyāḥ prāpatann bhuvi ||
Vaiśampāyana nói: Nói xong như thế với Vārṣṇeya (Śrī Kṛṣṇa), Pṛthā (Kuntī), người phụ nữ mắt rộng, giơ cả hai tay lên; bị nỗi đau phủ lấp, bà gục xuống đất. Những người phụ nữ khác cũng ngã theo như vậy. Cảnh ấy cho thấy ngay cả bậc trưởng thượng kiên cường nhất cũng có thể bị sầu khổ quật ngã, và tiếng than khóc chung trở thành lời chứng đạo lý về cái giá của bạo lực và ly tán.
