तेषां तदभवद् युद्ध दशाहानि महात्मनाम् | कुरूणां पाण्डवानां च सुमहल्लोमहर्षणम्,उन महामनस्वी कौरवों और पाण्डवोंमें दस दिनोंतक महान् रोमांचकारी युद्ध हुआ
teṣāṃ tad abhavad yuddhaṃ daśāhāni mahātmanām | kurūṇāṃ pāṇḍavānāṃ ca sumahallomaharṣaṇam ||
Vāsudeva nói: “Thế rồi, giữa những bậc đại hồn ấy đã diễn ra một trận chiến kéo dài mười ngày—giữa Kurus và Pāṇḍavas—một cuộc xung đột mênh mông, dựng tóc gáy, khiến người ta vừa kinh ngạc vừa rùng mình trước quy mô bạo liệt của nó.”
