Rajo-guṇa-nirdeśa — Brahmā’s Enumeration of Rajasic Dispositions
अस्मिल्लोके प्रमोदन््ते जायमाना: पुनः पुन: । प्रेत्य भाविकमीहन्ते ऐहलौकिकमेव च । ददति प्रतिगृह्नन्ति तर्पयन्त्यथ जुह्गमति
asmi loke pramodante j1yam1n1 puna puna | pretya bh1vikam 2bhante aihalaukikam eva ca | dadati pratigh nanti tarpayanty atha juhvati ||
Vāyudeva nói: “Trong đời này, hạng người ấy vui mừng hết lần này đến lần khác vì cứ tái sinh mãi, đắm chìm trong khoái lạc do các đối tượng giác quan sinh ra. Sau khi chết, họ cũng gắng sức vì những điều họ tưởng sẽ xảy đến, và họ chỉ theo đuổi lợi lộc thế gian. Bởi vậy, lấy dục vọng làm động cơ, họ bố thí, nhận của bố thí, và cử hành các nghi thức tarpaṇa cùng các lễ tế yajña.”
