नक्षत्रेषु श्राद्धफलविधानम् (Śrāddha Outcomes According to Nakṣatras)
न देवतानां काचिद्धि समर्था जातवेदस: । एता हि शक्तास्तं गर्भ संधारयितुमोजसा
na devatānāṃ kācid dhi samarthā jātavedasaḥ | etā hi śaktās taṃ garbhaṃ sandhārayitum ojasā ||
Bhīṣma nói: “Trong hàng tiên nữ, không ai đủ sức nâng đỡ ngọn uy lực rực cháy của Jātavedas (Agni). Chỉ có các Kṛttikā ấy mới có sức mạnh để mang và nuôi dưỡng bào thai đó bằng chính sinh lực của mình.”

Bhīṣma explains why the Kṛttikās were chosen to bear and nourish a divine embryo associated with Agni’s blazing energy: no other celestial woman could sustain that fiery potency, whereas the Kṛttikās could support it through their own ojas.
