इत्युक्त: स तथेत्युक्त्वा भगवान् हव्यवाहन: । जगामाथ दुराधर्षो गड़ां भागीरथीं प्रति,देवताओंके ऐसा कहनेपर “तथास्तु” कहकर दुर्धर्ष भगवान् हव्यवाहन भागीरथी गंगाके तटपर गये
ity uktaḥ sa tathety uktvā bhagavān havyavāhanaḥ | jagāmātha durādharṣo gaṅgāṃ bhāgīrathīṃ prati ||
Bhīṣma nói: Được chư thiên thỉnh cầu như vậy, Havyavāhana—Thần Lửa uy lực không ai cản nổi—đáp: “Xin vâng.” Rồi Ngài lập tức lên đường, hướng về sông Bhāgīrathī Gaṅgā.
भीष्म उवाच
