Educational Q&A

The verse teaches that go-dāna (the gift of cows), performed with sincere devotion, is a powerful dharmic charity that yields great spiritual merit, culminating in honored, radiant attainment in heaven.

Vasiṣṭha addresses a king and describes the posthumous reward of a devoted cow-giver: the donor ascends in a sun-bright vimāna, passes beyond the cloud-masses, reaches heaven, and shines there—an image meant to inspire ethical generosity.
