गामप्येकां कपिलां सम्प्रदाय न्यायोपेतां कलुषाद्‌ विप्रमुच्येत्‌ । गवां रसात्‌ परम॑ नास्ति किंचिद्‌ गवां प्रदानं सुमहद्‌ वदन्ति

Transliteration

gām apy ekāṃ kapilāṃ sampradāya nyāyopetāṃ kaluṣād vipramucyet | gavāṃ rasāt paramaṃ nāsti kiṃcid gavāṃ pradānaṃ sumahad vadanti |

Translation

Naciketa nói: “Chỉ cần bố thí một con bò kapilā—được sở hữu một cách chính đáng và đem cho theo lẽ công bằng—cũng đủ giải thoát khỏi ô uế (tội lỗi). Không có gì cao quý hơn sản vật của bò (sữa và các chế phẩm); vì vậy bậc hiền trí gọi việc bố thí bò là đại thí.”
