Gopradāna-phalasaṃprāpti: Nāciketa’s Vision of Vaivasvata’s Realms (गोप्रदानफलसम्प्राप्तिः — नाचिकेतोपाख्यानम्)

प्राणान्‌ दत्त्वा कपोताय यत्‌ प्राप्ते शिबिना पुरा । तां गतिं लभते दत्त्वा द्विजस्यान्नं विशाम्पते

prāṇān dattvā kapotāya yat prāpte śibinā purā | tāṁ gatiṁ labhate dattvā dvijasya annaṁ viśāmpate prajānātha |

Bhīṣma nói: “Thuở xưa, vua Śibi đã hiến dâng chính mạng sống mình vì một con bồ câu và đạt đến cảnh giới tối thượng. Cũng vậy, hỡi bậc chúa tể của muôn dân, đấng hộ trì thần dân, người nào bố thí thức ăn cho một vị brāhmaṇa thì sẽ đạt đến chính cảnh giới ấy.”
