उपच्छन्नं प्रकाशं वा वृत्त्या तान् प्रतिपालयेत् । जिन ब्राह्मणोंका आचरण निन्दित न हो
upacchannaṁ prakāśaṁ vā vṛttyā tān pratipālayet |
Bhishma nói: “Phải nuôi dưỡng những Bà-la-môn như thế—dù bằng cách kín đáo hay công khai—bằng việc sắp đặt sinh kế cho họ và tiếp tục nâng đỡ luôn luôn, nhất là khi hạnh kiểm của họ không đáng chê trách mà vẫn khổ vì thiếu kế sinh nhai. Ý nghĩa đạo đức là: những người gìn giữ trật tự xã hội phải chủ động tìm ra người xứng đáng và bảo đảm sự chu cấp cho họ, không để phẩm giá của họ bị tổn thương.”
