समृद्ध: सम्प्रयच्छ त्वं ब्राह्मणे भ्यो युधिष्ठिर । धेनूरनडुहो 5न्नानि च्छत्र॑ वासांस्युपानहौ,युधिष्ठिर! तुम समृद्धिशाली हो, इसलिये ब्राह्मणोंको गाय, बैल, अन्न, छाता, जूता और वस्त्र दान करते रहो
samṛddhaḥ samprayaccha tvaṃ brāhmaṇebhyo yudhiṣṭhira | dhenūr anaḍuho 'nnāni chatraṃ vāsāṃsy upānahau ||
Bhishma nói: “Hỡi Yudhishthira, vì con đang thịnh vượng, hãy luôn bố thí cho các Bà-la-môn: bò, bò đực, lương thực, một chiếc dù, y phục và giày dép.” Lời dạy ấy xem sự giàu có như một sự ký thác, phải chuyển hóa thành công đức bằng sự bố thí đều đặn, thiết thực—để nâng đỡ học vấn, đời sống nghi lễ và phúc lợi xã hội.
