Adhyāya 57: Tapas–Dāna Phala
On the Fruits of Austerity and Giving
पश्य भद्ठे यथा भावाश्षित्रा दृष्टा: सुदुर्लभा: । प्रसादाद् भगुमुख्यस्य किमन्यत्र तपोबलात्
paśya bhadre yathā bhāvāś citrā dṛṣṭāḥ sudurlabhāḥ | prasādād bhṛgumukhyasya kim anyatra tapobalāt ||
Bhīṣma nói: “Hỡi phu nhân cao quý, hãy nhìn xem—những hiển hiện kỳ diệu và vô cùng hiếm có ấy đã được thấy. Nếu không nhờ ân sủng của bậc tối thượng trong dòng Bhṛgu, thì cảnh tượng này từ đâu mà có? Ngoài sức mạnh sinh từ khổ hạnh, còn sức mạnh nào có thể ban cho được?”
