Adhyāya 57: Tapas–Dāna Phala
On the Fruits of Austerity and Giving
कान्ताभिरपरांस्तत्र परिष्वक्तान् ददर्श ह | न ददर्श च तान् भूयो ददर्श च पुनर्नुप:
kāntābhir aparāṁs tatra pariṣvaktān dadarśa ha | na dadarśa ca tān bhūyo dadarśa ca punar nṛpaḥ |
Bhīṣma nói: “Tại đó, nhà vua thấy những kẻ khác đang được người yêu ôm chặt. Nhưng rồi lại không thấy họ nữa; và sau đó lại thấy lần nữa. Thế là, trong cõi hoan lạc kỳ diệu của chư thiên ấy, ngay cả sự tri giác cũng chao đảo—ngụ ý rằng khoái lạc và sự vướng mắc vốn vô thường, và điều tìm cầu bằng hưởng thụ giác quan không thể nắm giữ chắc chắn.”
