इस प्रकार श्रीमह्ाभारत अनुशासनपर्वके अन्तर्गत दानधर्मपर्वमें विवाहधर्मके प्रसंगमें वर्णयंकरकी उत्पत्तिका वर्णणविषयक अड्भधतालीसवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ
Iti prakāraḥ Śrīmahābhārata Anuśāsanaparvaṇi antargata Dānadharmaparvaṇi vivāhadharmaprasange varṇasaṅkarotpattikāvarṇanaviṣayakaḥ aṣṭacatvāriṃśattamo 'dhyāyaḥ pūrṇaḥ.
Như vậy kết thúc chương thứ bốn mươi tám, thuộc Anuśāsana Parva của Śrī Mahābhārata, trong phần Dāna-dharma (pháp về bố thí), nhân dịp bàn về hôn nhân-dharma, thuật lại sự phát sinh của varṇa-saṅkara (sự pha trộn các dòng họ và trật tự xã hội).
