Ānṛśaṃsya–Bhakti: Śukaḥ Śakreṇa Parīkṣitaḥ
Compassion and Devotion—The Parrot Tested by Indra
तस्मिन् वक्षे तथाभूते कोटरेषु चिरोषित: । न जहाति शुको वासं तस्य भक्त्या वनस्पते:
tasmin vakṣe tathābhūte koṭareṣu ciroṣitaḥ | na jahāti śuko vāsaṃ tasya bhaktyā vanaspateḥ ||
Bhīṣma nói: Khi cây đã lâm vào tình trạng ấy, một con vẹt đã ở lâu ngày trong các hốc cây vẫn không rời bỏ chỗ ở. Vì lòng mến thương và gắn bó với cây ấy, nó vẫn ở lại dù cây đang héo tàn—nêu lên đức trung thành và lòng biết ơn không bỏ rơi nơi nương tựa lúc suy vi.
