अनुकूलामनुवंशां क्रात्रा दत्तामुपाग्निकाम्‌ । परिक्रम्य यथान्यायं भार्या विन्देद्‌ द्विजोत्तम:

Transliteration

anukūlām anuvaṁśāṁ ca bhrātrā dattām upāgnikām | parikramya yathānyāyaṁ bhāryāṁ vinded dvijottamaḥ ||

Translation

Bhīṣma nói: Bậc tối thượng trong hàng dvija nên nhận làm vợ một người nữ hiền thuận, xứng hợp với dòng tộc mình, được anh trai nàng trao gả đúng phép, và ngồi gần ngọn lửa thiêng đang cháy; sau khi đi nhiễu quanh lửa theo đúng nghi thức, hãy cưới nàng theo quy định của thánh điển.
