Devaśarmā–Vipula Dialogue on Ahorātra–Ṛtu as Moral Witnesses (अनुशासन पर्व, अध्याय ४३)
यथा रक्षा कृता पूर्व विपुलेन गुरुस्त्रिया: । पुरुषसिंह! पूर्वकालमें मैंने यह सुना था कि प्राचीनकालमें महात्मा विपुलने अपनी गुरुपत्नीकी रक्षा की थी। कैसे की? यह मैं तुम्हें बता रहा हूँ
yathā rakṣā kṛtā pūrvaṁ vipulena gurustrīyāḥ | puruṣasiṁha! pūrvakāle me śrutaṁ yat prācīnakāle mahātmā vipulena svagurupatnyā rakṣā kṛtā | kathaṁ kṛtā? tad ahaṁ te vakṣyāmi |
Bhishma nói: “Hỡi bậc sư tử giữa loài người! Ta đã nghe từ thuở xưa rằng, ngày trước, bậc đại hồn Vipula đã bảo hộ người vợ của thầy mình. Ông đã che chở nàng ra sao—nay ta sẽ kể cho ngươi.”
