Vipulopākhyāna—Ruci-rakṣā and Śakra’s Māyā (विपुलोपाख्यानम्—रुचिरक्षणं शक्रमाया च)
तथा चिरोषितं चापि सम्प्रत्यागतमेव च । अपूर्व चैव पूर्व च तत्पात्रं मानमहति
tathā ciroṣitaṃ cāpi sampratyāgatam eva ca | apūrvaṃ caiva pūrvaṃ ca tatpātraṃ mānam arhati ||
Bhīṣma nói: Dù người ấy đã ở cùng ta từ lâu, hay vừa mới từ nơi khác đến; dù là người quen từ trước hay hoàn toàn xa lạ—người ấy đều xứng đáng được tiếp đãi bằng lễ vật và đáng được tôn kính. Đó là lời dạy về lòng hiếu khách vô tư, không thiên vị vì quen hay lạ.
