Tīrtha-vaṃśa Upadeśa: Instruction on the Fruits of Sacred Waters
ये परस्वापहर्तार: परस्वानां च नाशका: । सूचकाश्न परेषां ये ते वै निरयगामिन:,जो दूसरोंके धनको हड़पनेवाले और नष्ट करनेवाले हैं तथा दूसरोंकी चुगली खानेवाले हैं, उन्हें निश्षय ही नरकमें गिरना पड़ता है
ye parasvāpahartāraḥ parasvānāṃ ca nāśakāḥ | sūcakāś ca pareṣāṃ ye te vai nirayagāminaḥ ||
Bhīṣma nói: Kẻ trộm đoạt của cải người khác, kẻ phá hoại tài sản người khác, và kẻ làm kẻ chỉ điểm, vu cáo, phỉ báng hại người—những kẻ ấy quả thật là người destined đi vào địa ngục.
भीष्म उवाच
The verse teaches that stealing or destroying others’ property and harming others through malicious informing/slander are serious adharma; such acts lead to painful karmic results, described here as falling into niraya (hell).
In the Anushasana Parva, Bhishma instructs Yudhishthira on dharma and moral conduct. Here he lists specific wrongful behaviors—property-violations and harmful speech—and states their dire consequence to emphasize ethical restraint.
